What a day of inspiration and reflection here in the City of Brotherly Love.  This morning I visited the place where our Nation's Independence was born and the site of the US Constitution's signing, Indpendence Hall.  Philasdelphia was founded in 1681 as "The Heavenly Experiment" by William Penn, a devout Quaker.  It was founded on three principles, 1) the primacy of the individual conscience, 2) the equality of all human beings, and 3) the commitment to non-violence.  What better place to begin a jouney as a new member of the Peace Corps family.  We spent the day in reflection about our mission to be of service where invited, to be a personal representative of American good will abroad, and to be a link to Americans of our experience in Moldova.  Tomorrow we leave at 8:30 AM on a bus for JFK airport in NY and we arrive on Thursday in Chisinau, Moldova at 8:30 PM.  From the home of Ben Franklin, I wish you Noapte Buna...or Good Night.
